/ Free tool · Your numbers, your result

What would more people finding you on Google be worth?

Put in your own figures. The calculator turns extra search visits into enquiries, customers, revenue and gross profit, and shows how long it takes to pay back.

Choose the kind of business you run and the calculator fills in typical starting numbers. Change any of them: your organic visits, how many visitors enquire or buy, your average sale, margin and monthly spend. The results update as you type, and nothing you enter leaves your browser unless you send it to us.

From Google Search Console (clicks) or Analytics (organic search). Under 200 is common for small local businesses.

%

+100% means double. Early-stage sites often grow 2 to 5x once the basics are fixed. Established sites, 20 to 60%.

Search work compounds. 4 to 8 months is typical before the full lift shows.

4.0x

return on spend

At full effect, every $1 of spend returns about $4.0 in gross profit. You need 0.9 new customers a month to break even, and this scenario brings 3.6.

Estimates from the numbers you entered, not a promise of results. Search traffic depends on competition, your site and your Google Business Profile. Gross profit counts the first-year value of each new customer in the month they are won. Estimates only, not financial advice.

How the numbers work

The maths, in plain steps.

How are the extra visits worked out?

In growth mode, today's organic visits multiplied by the increase you choose. In demand mode, the monthly searches for your services multiplied by the click share for the ranking you pick, minus the visits you already get.

Why does the lift build up over months?

Search work compounds, so the extra traffic ramps over the number of months you choose, slowly at first and then faster. It does not arrive in month one, and the 12-month chart shows each month separately.

How are customers counted?

Extra visits multiplied by the share of visitors who enquire, then by the share of enquiries you win. For an online shop or a venue the win step is skipped, because an order or a booking is already a customer.

How is gross profit worked out?

Customers multiplied by the average sale, by the number of purchases a customer makes in the first year, and by your gross margin. Each new customer's first-year value is counted in the month they are won.

What do return and break-even mean here?

Return is the monthly gross profit at full effect divided by your monthly spend. Break-even is the spend divided by the gross profit from one customer, which is the number of new customers a month that covers the spend.

What is the ads comparison?

Extra visits multiplied by your Google Ads cost per click. It is what you would pay Google to rent the same traffic, and that traffic stops the day the ads stop.

Where do the click shares come from?

They are rounded from public click-through studies, where the top result usually takes about a quarter of clicks and page two close to none. AI answers and ads above the results pull these down, so the presets sit on the cautious side.

What is organic traffic worth to a small business?

The gross profit from the customers it brings in. Multiply the extra visits by the share who enquire or buy, the share of enquiries you win, your average sale, how often a customer buys in the first year and your gross margin. That is the whole calculation on this page, run on your own figures.

How long does SEO take to pay back?

It depends on how big the lift is against your spend and how quickly it builds. The calculator marks the first month where total gross profit covers total spend: with the local service defaults and $299 a month that is month three. Slower ramps, thinner margins or a smaller lift push it out, and some scenarios never pay back.

Is SEO cheaper than Google Ads?

Compare the two figures the calculator gives you: your monthly SEO spend and what the same extra visits would cost as Google Ads clicks. Ads stop sending traffic when you stop paying, while rankings built over months keep working, though they take time and are never guaranteed.
