What each check tells you
Six checks, six different questions.
- Search Console
- Whether Google has indexed the page and, if not, the reason it gives. A redirect, a noindex instruction and an undiscovered page each need a different response.
- Bing
- Whether Bing has the same pages. An action in Google does not complete anything in Bing, and Bing is the index several AI assistants draw on.
- Brand and domain search
- Whether a search for your exact name returns you, a similarly named organisation or something else entirely.
- An AI buying question
- Whether an assistant with web search names you when someone asks the question a customer would, in a fresh conversation where you have not supplied your own site.
- The record
- The date, the question, the answer and the sources cited. Answers change even when your site has not, so one result is a data point rather than a verdict.
- One next action
- The single change worth making first, and how you will know it worked. A fix being live and a page being indexed are separate outcomes, checked separately.
