About Foundlab

I’m Dan.
I do the work.

I’m the Sydney-based founder of Foundlab. I research how Australian businesses are found in search and AI answers, then turn the findings into practical website and content improvements.

The work

Research that leads to a clear next step.

I build websites and software as well as reviewing them. That informs the way I write recommendations: a finding needs an affected page, evidence, an action and a way to check the result.

Foundlab is a solo business. I run the research and review the findings. The tooling helps collect evidence; interpreting it and deciding what matters is my responsibility.

The Findability Audit brings together search demand, technical SEO, AI answer checks and content. It is delivered remotely for Australian businesses, with scope and price agreed before work begins.

Evidence

Look at the work.

The case studies show what was examined and delivered. My own editorial site, Skin After Weight Loss, is explicitly labelled as my own project. An observation, a deployed fix and a business result are recorded as different things.

You can open a sample audit finding before booking. It uses a real observation from Foundlab’s own site to show how the report is structured.

How I write

Useful explanations, with the limits included.

I use research and AI tools to help develop content, then review it for accuracy, context and usefulness. Articles link to sources for technical guidance. Examples are identified as examples, and observations are dated.

An AI mention does not prove sustained visibility. A crawler reaching a page does not prove indexing. A booking click does not prove a completed appointment. Those distinctions matter when deciding what to do next.
